Daly eyeing third place

Dundee United striker Jon Daly kept his side on the trail of Hearts with a hat-trick in a 4-0 win over Motherwell and then expressed belief they could narrow the gap further with another victory at Ibrox.United travel to Glasgow on Tuesday knowing a win would put them two points behind Hearts in the race for third place in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League and the guaranteed Europa League spot that comes with it.Peter Houston's men assured fourth place with their emphatic victory over an under-strength Motherwell and would still qualify for Europe if Rangers win the SPL and Celtic win the Scottish Cup.But Daly and his team-mates have set their sights on emulating last month's 3-2 away win over Rangers and potentially setting up a third-place decider against Hearts at Tannadice next Sunday."We know we need to go and get a result there and we need Celtic to do us a favour at Tynecastle," Daly said. "If we manage to take it to the last game of the season it would be a great achievement for us. And you never know, on the last game of the season we might be able to nick it."We're in good form at the moment and hopefully we can go through to Ibrox and do what we did a few weeks ago."
