Conway return boosts Levein
18 Dec 2007 - 09:56:22
Dundee United winger Craig Conway is closing in on a return to first-team action after finally overcoming a long-term foot problem.
The 22-year-old former Ayr United ace has featured just three times this season, but was on the bench for the weekend 3-0 win at St Mirren.
Tangerines head coach Craig Levein told The Courier: "I am thrilled for Craig that he is almost there and fingers-crossed that all goes well for him now.
"He played some games at the start of the season, but it then became clear the foot had not healed properly.
"So, really, he has been out of the picture for 11 months and it is frustrating for a player to be on the sidelines for so long.
"Previous to the injury, he was a real asset to the team and was producing some good performances for us.
"I am delighted to get him back, because a fit Craig Conway will certainly boost our attacking options."
