Cadamarteri named top player

Dundee United striker Danny Cadamarteri has been named as the Scottish Premier League's player of the month for August.

Cadamarteri, 29, has started his Terrors career in impressive fashion after scoring three goals in his first three SPL appearances.

The former Everton youngster arrived at Tannadice on a free transfer earlier in the summer after opting to leave former club Huddersfield Town.

Cadamarteri claimed a brace on his United debut - a 2-0 opening-day victory over Hearts.

He was also on the mark in a 2-1 win over Falkirk and his goals helped Craig Levein's side end August in third place in the SPL table.
