Reports suggest Dundee United manager Gordon Chisholm could lose his job if the Terrors fail to beat rock-bottom Dunfermline Athletic on Saturday.
The 1-0 loss at Livingston left United ninth in the SPL table with only four wins form their opening 18 SPL fixtures.
It is believed that Kilmarnock boss Jim Jefferies will take over at Tannadice if Chisholm is axed.
Chisholm replaced Ian McCall last season and steered the club away from relegation and guided them to the Scottish Cup final.
