Andy Webster insists he has no apprehension about returning to Rangers after getting his career back on track with Dundee United.[LNB] The defender capped an impressive season-long loan at Tannadice by lifting the Scottish Cup along with his predecessor as captain, Lee Wilkie.[LNB]Webster also resurrected his Scotland career after a four-year absence during which his progress was derailed by contract disputes and a succession of injuries.[LNB]The 28-year-old has only made one appearance for Rangers since his initial arrival from Wigan in January 2007.[LNB]But he feels sure he can make an impact following his confidence-boosting spell on Tayside.[LNB]"My year at United has been incredible and one I'll never forget," Webster told Rangers' official website.[LNB]"I needed to get back playing regularly again and going to Tannadice allowed me to do that.[LNB]"I wanted people to start talking about me as a footballer - pure and simple - and I hope that can now continue.[LNB]"I'll enjoy a few weeks' holiday with my family and then go back to Rangers early and in July ready to make an impact.[LNB]"I won't be nervous or apprehensive - I'm looking forward to it.[LNB]"I always felt part of things at Rangers even when I was out of the team and in the past week I've had a lot of messages from guys at the club.[LNB]"Davie Weir texted me and I've spoke to Kevin Thomson and Lee McCulloch too.[LNB]"Ally McCoist called me on the morning of the cup final to pass on his best wishes and that meant a lot too."[LNB]Webster's career hit its first major obstacle when he was frozen out by Hearts shortly before their 2006 Scottish Cup triumph, after failing to sign a new contract.[LNB]The centre-back endured an injury-hit spell at Wigan after securing a pioneering move a year before his Hearts contract was due to expire.[LNB]He suffered knee ligament damage in his first training session at Murray Park and more injuries followed but he feels stronger for his trials and tribulations and ready to make up for lost time.[LNB]"I think as the years have gone by I've learned to deal with things better, I feel I've become a stronger person and more experienced with all that has gone on," he added.[LNB]"Now kicking on in a football sense is the only thing on my mind."
