Hull concluded their preparations for the Championship season with a 2-1 win at home to Dundee United on Saturday.[LNB] Former England man Nick Barmby came close to giving the Tigers an early lead but it was Tom Cairney who did open the scoring in the 10th minute.[LNB]Richard Garcia held the ball up well on the edge of the area before teeing up Cairney to lash a shot into the roof of the net from 20 yards.[LNB]The Scots were level within three minutes however as Lithuanian trialist Irmantas Zelmikas was left unmarked to head in a free-kick.[LNB]Former Newcastle winger Nolberto Solano then saw his free-kick brilliantly saved by United goalkeeper Dusan Pernis but the ball cannoned in off Zelmikas to give City the win.
