update

Friday 20th September: Apex Hotel. I represented Dundee Football Club at a charity dinner in celebration of the 10th Anniversary of Maggie’s Centre. Maggie’s is located at Ninewells Hospital, and provides emotional, practical and social support to people with cancer and their families and friends. It was a very enjoyable evening, and the magnificent sum of £50,000 was raised.

Wednesday 25th September: DFC Board meeting: 4pm – 8.30pm. John Brown was at the start of the meeting discussing footballing matters, following which Ian Crighton presented the quarterly accounts. John Nelms then informed the board of how the club are moving forward regarding the youth setup. A lot of work has already been done and John will announce Phase One in the near future. There’s an arrangement in place for the DFCSS to have two seats on the club board, the second of whom should have a specific skill set, and the club have asked for that second society director to be an architect.

Wednesday 25h September: DFCSS Board meeting: Gilzean Lounge: 8.30pm – 11.30 pm. Straight out of one meeting and into another! High on this agenda was the initial planning required for the society to prepare for our AGM in November. Prior to that, however, I was able to confirm the club had received the cheque of £12,472 from the society.

Thursday 26th September: Dark Blues Business Trust meeting: Park Hotel: 7pm - 9pm. I gave a ten minute talk on where the DFCSS is at present and also assured the DBBT of our full support moving forward.

Friday 27th September: DFC Board Room: 6pm – 10pm. This was a DFCSS meetingat which we discussed the practicality of live streaming of home games. The DFC board is very keen on the society getting the live streaming up and running as soon as possible. We also discussed an upgrade of both DFCTV and DFSCC websites.
