Remember, remember the16thNovember! That’s the date of the DFCSS Annual General Meeting, a particularly important occasion this year for all fans of the Dark Blues! The meeting will be held in the Andy Penman lounge, with the doors opening at 10.00am in readiness for a prompt 10.30am start.
Although the full agenda has still to be agreed by the directors, it will include such items as approval of the 2012 AGM minutes, receiving the revenue account and balance sheet for the financial year ended 31st May 2013, and receiving a report on the Society’s performance in the past year.
One further important item will be the election of new members on to the board. It seems remarkable, doesn’t it, that the current board was elected to office less than three months ago and yet, because of just one of a number of contentious and/or confusing rules within our constitution - a constitution which we will work very hard over the coming months to bring up to date and make fit for purpose - two of our number have had to resign, putting themselves up for re-election should they so wish. Although only two directors are in this category, i.e. Dave Forbes as longest serving director and one other, there are in fact four places to be filled on the board and we’re looking for like-minded people to come and join us and help us continue the work we began back in August of building a better Society and forging ever strengthening bonds with the Dundee FC board and other groups such as the DSA and DBBT.
Nominations to join the board will open on Saturday 19th October 2013. Forms will be available to download from www.dee4life.com, collect one from the club shop, Dundee Direct or request one by emailing election@dee4life.com from this date.
Alternatively, forms can be posted out by writing to Election Management Group, c/o Dens Park Stadium, Sandeman Street, Dundee, DD3 7JY. The EMG can also provide any further guidance you may require, including the rules of election, which are also available to download at www.dee4life.com.
Completed forms must be posted to the Election Management Group address above or handed into Dens Park office in an envelope marked for the attention of the EMG, and nominations will close at 5.00pm on Saturday 2nd November 2013. Should there be more than four nominations, a vote will take place between the 4th and 14thof November with the result of the ballot being announced at the AGM.
Remember, remember....if you are a member of the Society this is not just our AGM it’s your AGM. So come along on the 16th and help make sure the meeting is interesting, positive and gets our next year of business off to a flying star
