Robertson back in the frame

Dundee United could be boosted by the return of midfielder Scott Robertson for the final few weeks of the season.[LNB] The midfielder was ruled out for the rest of the campaign last month with a groin problem, but has made a remarkable recovery and has been training for the last three weeks.[LNB]Tannadice boss Peter Houston has made it clear he will not rush the Scotland international back into action because of his history of suffering setbacks, but if Robertson passes himself fit he will be considered for a place on the bench against Motherwell this weekend.[LNB]Houston said: "Scott has been training but I'll wait on him coming to me to say he's ready for a place on the bench.[LNB]"The last thing we're going to do is force him because we've tried to get him into the team in the past only for him to suffer a setback.[LNB]"But that's three weeks he's trained for and he's been pain free so he's made remarkable progress.[LNB]"He wouldn't be anywhere near starting a game but if he says he feels up to it then we'd think about him.[LNB]"He's feeling really good and, a bit like we did with Francisco Sandaza recently, maybe 20 minutes here and there wouldn't be beyond him."[LNB]United can kill off Motherwell's faint hopes of finishing third if they win at Fir Park and Houston expects boss Craig Brown to have his players pumped up.[LNB]He said: "Motherwell will probably see this as their last chance to reel us in.[LNB]"Going down there is always difficult so we know what to expect.[LNB]"They were excellent against us at Tannadice in the first 20 minutes before Paul Dixon got sent off and our lads kicked on to win the game.[LNB]"The form they have been in over the last few months has been nothing short of remarkable so we know exactly what we face down there.[LNB]"A lot has been made of their pitch this season but that's not something we've even thought about.[LNB]"There are loads of pitches in the SPL the same and I don't buy into the idea that it gives Motherwell an advantage.[LNB]"Their record away from home is equally good so that shows how good a team they are."[LNB]United's David Goodwillie has been nominated for young player of the year and Houston insists the recognition is well deserved.[LNB]He said: "It's great for Goodie to get a bit of recognition. He's matured as a player and a person.[LNB]"He's got an eye for goal and is working really hard so well done to him."
