Mentel makes Tannadice exit

Slovakian goalkeeper Filip Mentel has left Dundee United after failing to make a first-team appearance.

The 22-year-old joined United from Manchester City in July 2010 and suffered a serious knee injury a year ago while on loan at Clyde. A club statement read:

"Dundee United today confirmed that Filip Mentel has left the club by mutual consent. Filip leaves with the club's best wishes."
