Last nights game
Horror show from dark blues Oh dear where do i start,first division Dundee traveled the short distance to Brechin for the league cup game last night.A warning that Brechin would provide stern opposition after their win at Stenhousemuir went unoticed by the Dundee management team. Chiss and Dodds once again left Kerr on the bench for reasons known only to their selves,the fans are growing restless with the Dundee managements decisions,why we started with the clearly unfit and unmatch fit recent capture from Celtic along with the out of his depth Adams only they know. Barry Smith was head and shoulders above any defensive mindfielder on the park and the writing was on the wall for Dundee early doors,despite this the Dundee duo waited untill half time before making their first change. Soon after Brechin found themselves down to ten men in what seemed a very harsh sending off early in the second half.worse was to follow for the travelling support when Brechin surged into the lead,things went from bad to worse when Brechin doubled their lead.Absolutley unbelievable that Dundee waited untill two goals behind to start playing but that is exactly what happened. With 15 minutes remaining of regulation time Dundee upped the ante and a good strike from Griffiths had Dundee back in the game,the fans lifted the atmosphere and finally they were rewarded with yet another Griffiths strike,.....game on.......Dundee laid seige to the Brechin goal creating chance after chance,but to no avail untill in the last minute of normal time when they were awarded a penalty.......up stepped Griffiths to win the tie by securing a hat trick but the wee striked blasted wide of Nelsons right hand post. Into extra time and it was Brechin who looked dangerous on the break and they really should have won the tie on several occasions before Forsyth was sent off for leaving the foot in and showing his studs. And so it went to penalty kicks,Brechin were leading 2.1 when big Rab saved but to no avail as we then missed again,what amazd me was no Dundee attacker decided to take a penalty,very strange indeed.Its going to be a very long and hard season going by last nights performance..Credit where credit is due and well done Brechin for showing upa very poor Dundee team,and if things dont get sorted quickly then we will be lucky to escape relegation!!!!!!!!! yes we were really that bad.
