Dundee United's Mihael Kovacevic could miss the first two months of the season after tearing a cruciate ligament training with his father.[LNB] The 22-year-old defender was attempting to regain full fitness following the hamstring problem which affected him during the final few months of the season when he badly damaged his right knee.[LNB]Kovacevic, on a visit to Switzerland to see his family, revealed he was jumping for headers when he landed awkwardly.[LNB]He now faces an operation that could sideline him for up to four months.[LNB]He said in the Scottish Sun: "I had the scan last Thursday and the results have now been sent to the Dundee United doctor.[LNB]"I think it could be at least three or four months out, which is disappointing. Now I am waiting to be contacted by the club to see when I can get the operation.[LNB]"Maybe I will come back quicker than expected, but I won't be making pre-season."[LNB]Manager Peter Houston, who also revealed he has made enquiries about bringing a new centre-back and left-back to Tannadice, said: "I'm devastated for Mihael, especially as it has happened when he's been trying to keep himself in good nick over the holidays."
