Peter Houston delivered the Scottish Cup to Dundee United for the first time in 16 years then said he was ready to become their long-term boss.[LNB] Two goals from Craig Conway and one from David Goodwillie ensured a 3-0 victory at Hampden Park against First Division Ross County.[LNB]There were jubilant scenes at the end with Houston, who replaced Craig Levein when he took charge of Scotland, the focal point.[LNB]Houston still has two years of his contract as a coach to run and will see chairman Stephen Thompson next week.[LNB]He said: "It is a case of talks to see where we are going. It's bits and pieces we want to chat about. It will get resolved.[LNB]"I think it is healthy to chat because we want to continue to do well. If it comes to the bit when I am offered the job then I have someone to speak for me. Who knows where that takes me though. If I get offered it I want it.[LNB]"I am pleased to be the manager of Dundee United and very proud of the fact we have won the Scottish Cup as it goes in the record books. No-one can take that away from me."[LNB]Houston is due to meet Levein for a few drinks tonight back at Tannadice and has nothing but respect for his predecessor.[LNB]"Craig and I worked together eight or nine years. I do not need anyone to tell me it is his team. I know it his team. I am the first to say it," he said.[LNB]"What he is so pleased about we have been able to continue the good work. He is delighted and would love to be part of the day but he has a massive job ahead as Scotland manager.[LNB]"There is a hint of jealously because he misses being on the touchline. We have a great relationship. He is a good friend as well."[LNB]County, who had beaten Hibernian and Celtic along the way, collapsed in the second half.[LNB]Goodwillie opened the scoring with a superb lob after goalkeeper Michael McGovern's wayward header.[LNB]They then turned the screw with Conway capping a thrilling display with two clinical finishes.[LNB]Houston said: "I know how well regarded the 1994 team is. I just hope these guys are regarded in the same manner because they deserve it.[LNB]"I felt the first goal was going to be very important and it turned out that way. Fortunately we got it and from then on I thought there was only going to be one winner.[LNB]"They were great goals. Goodwillie had people around him but that finish showed his quality.[LNB]"Conway has been great the last six months. He can go inside, outside and has great pace.[LNB]"He was so up for the game as were all the players. In training on Thursday and Friday they were kicking each other."[LNB]
