Houston to bide time with Swanson

Dundee United manager Peter Houston will bide his time in nurturing injured winger Danny Swanson back into his starting XI.[LNB] The 23-year-old missed the club's weekend win over Aberdeen after he pulled up in their 1-1 draw at Hearts within minutes of the kick-off at Tynecastle.[LNB]The nature of Swanson's injury had been somewhat of a mystery, however, scans have uncovered a misalignment of his pelvis which had been causing his hamstring issues.[LNB]Swanson has been doing some one-on-one work with physio Jeff Clarke to work on his match fitness and Houston has no intention of rushing him back into first-team duty.[LNB]"Danny has started running again," Houston told the Press and Journal. "He has core work to do and also special exercises to help his injury.[LNB]"He needs his fitness built up again, but the main thing was his scan was clear. I'm not putting any timescale on him coming back and he'll be working with the physio. [LNB]"He missed a bit of pre-season with his Achilles problem and now he's got this so it's best to let him work with Jeff until he's 100 per cent again.[LNB]"Danny is frustrated, because he thought he was better again after the Europa League game in Athens, but broke down against Hearts.[LNB]"It was annoying him because he wasn't totally sure what was wrong. When any player is like that it makes it a bit worse. But now he's had the scan, it's come back clear and they've decided it is a problem with his pelvis. [LNB]"Craig Conway, Morgaro Gomis and a few others didn't train because they picked up knocks but they'll all be back again on Wednesday."
