Dundee manager Jim Duffy admits that Jonay Hernandez's international call-up has made him very proud.
The 24-year-old ex-Real Madrid defender has been called into the Venezuela squad for the friendly against Nigeria and Duffy believes his selection reflects very well on the Dark Blues.
He told the Daily Record: "I am delighted Jonay has become involved at international level. It is a testimony to his progress since he arrived at Dens Park a year ago and is a testimony to the increasing profile of the club.
"The down side is he may now from time to time be unavailable to us, and then there is the worry about travelling, picking up knocks and the like.
"But that's part and parcel of the game and playing at international level can only improve him as a player. That should benefit Dundee."
