Dundee wait on Toshney Dundee hope on-loan Celtic defender Lewis Toshney can overcome an ankle injury in time to face St Johnstone in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League. Kevin McBride and Jamie McCluskey made their return from injury for the Under-20s this week but the latter fell awkwardly and was taken off and neither will feature. Stephen O'Donnell (hamstring) and Davide Grassi (knee), Carl Finnigan (knee) and Mark Stewart (knee) remain out. Manager Barry Smith wants his side to replicate their recent first-half performance with Motherwell as they aim to pick up their first home win. The Dark Blues produced some of their best football so far this season which had them 1-0 up on Stuart McCall's league leaders until a late collapse cost them the points. The SPL new boys are back on home turf when Steve Lomas' on-form side arrive at Dens with Smith urging the hosts to hit the heights they did reached against the Steelmen in a bid to celebrate a home victory. He said: "In our last home game we were very good against Motherwell who're top of the league. "That's the kind of standards we want to aim for but have to try and maintain that for the 90 minutes. "Ideally we would like a repeat of our first-half display but obviously we want a different result. "We want a victory for ourselves and for the fans but know we can't afford to switch off at any time." Rowan Vine is suspended for St Johnstone after picking up his second red card of the season against Ross County last week. Callum Davidson and Jamie Adams are both still out with back problems. Captain Dave Mackay warned against complacency ahead of he clash. Rejuvenated Saints have won three and drawn one of their last four matches after they slumped to the bottom of the Clydesdale Bank Premier League following their poor start to the season. "If we turn up with a poor attitude thinking we are going to walk that game then we are in real danger, it is not going to happen," said Mackay. "It will be a very tough game. It is a derby as well, Barry will have his players up for it so we will be wary of them. "The SPL is so tight than any team can beat any other on their day. "We are about four from the top and four from the bottom, it is so tight. "A couple of weeks ago people were starting to think St Johnstone were in danger of relegation but you win a couple of games and everything is rosy again. "So they are definitely not out of it. They have a few points on the board, if they had none you would start to worry but there are still plenty of points to play for."
