Dundee goalkeeper Scott Bain would take wins over stylish play
Scott Bain admits Dundee might not win prizes in the style stakes but he will be happy so long as they are sitting pretty at the end of the season.
Paul Hartley's side looked like they could be heading for a relegation scrap after sinking to the bottom of the Ladbrokes Premiership table.
But three wins from their last five games have lifted the Dens Park side up to 10th and even within touching distance of the top six.
Goalkeeper Bain confessed the Dark Blues' turnaround has come at a cost, with Hartley ditching notions of his men trying to play in an attractive, expansive manner.
But if it continues to pay dividends with results, Bain thinks few at the club will complain about their stodgy displays.
He said: "It's a great understanding we have got now and we've found a way to win games.
"Sometimes it might not be pretty but in this league I don't think there are many teams which play really attractive football.
"Where we are at the moment, we just need to try to get three points every week and play the way we are, because it seems to be working."
Meanwhile, Ross County boss Jim McIntyre believes it will take just one goal for his shot-shy strikers to open the scoring floodgates.
While top scorer Liam Boyce has hit the net nine times in the Ladbrokes Premiership already this term, the rest of McIntyre's frontmen have contributed just three league goals between them.
But the Staggies boss is confident the goals will come so long as the rest of his team continue putting the poachers in positions to pounce.
Speaking ahead of this weekend's trip to Dundee, McIntyre said: "When you get that first goal when you've been waiting a wee while to score then there's no doubt it can spark some more goals in you.
"Hopefully we can see that on Saturday and the boys can go on a bit of a run.
"We've missed chances in recent games which could have killed off teams but the important thing for me is we are in the right places and creating the right opportunities.
"As we showed against St Johnstone we do have a ruthless side in us - but we need to show it more often."
