Arturo set for Dundee debut against Motherwell

Arturo could make his Dundee debut in the Ladbrokes Scottish Premiership clash against Motherwell as the Spanish striker joins the squad following his loan move from Cordoba.

Defender Darren O'Dea also comes in after being ineligible for the midweek cup win over Falkirk.

Julen Etxabeguren made his comeback from an eye injury against the Bairns, leaving James McPake (knee), Gary Irvine (ankle) and Daryll Meggatt (hernia) on the sidelines.

Striker Kane Hemmings is set to retain his place in the Dundee attack after netting nine goals in six games.

His double in the win over Falkirk took his tally for the season to 15 and he feels consistency and confidence have been the key factors behind his recent form.

"It's more to do with consistency in my performances," he said. "I like to think I have played quite well since mid-November and I'm reaping the rewards of that now. I just want to keep it going.

"I don't think it's anything in particular. One good performance breeds confidence and you take that into your next performance."

Motherwell expect to have a full squad available. Josh Law has returned to training after missing the defeat by Ross County through injury while fellow full-back Steven Hammell has recovered from the illness that forced him off.

They trimmed their squad this week with Theo Robinson, David Clarkson, Dan Twardzik and Jake Taylor departing, while James McFadden plays his last game before his short-term deal expires.

Motherwell are looking to get back on track at Dens Park following successive defeats to Hearts and Ross County.

"Dundee are the type of team that we can look to, they have had a couple of bad results this year but they always seem to pick themselves up and go again," former Celtic striker Scott McDonald said.

"People say they are on a bad run and then they get a good result and go again. We will be looking to emulate that. We need to get back on the winning trail."
