Dundee relishing Celtic visit

Dundee manager Paul Hartley believes Wednesday's visit of Celtic to Dens Park can bring out the best in his players.

The Dark Blues are relishing their re-arranged game with Ronny Deila's men after recently clinching their place in the top-six on their return to the Scottish Premiership this season.

Dundee have had a successful campaign up until now and Hartley hopes their side can turn on the style again in front of the live cameras.

Hartley said: "It's a big game.

"We're all really looking forward to it.

"Celtic are a quality team and we have had some good games with them already this season.

"We have given some good accounts of ourselves and hopefully we can again.

"Our aim is to get the three points and nothing will ever change that.

"We will have a go and there should be a right good atmosphere inside the ground.

"It's up to us to show what we can do on this sort of stage and it's a great opportunity for the players."

Dundee have already sealed a top-six place but Hartley reckons there is still more to come from his team.

He said: "There's still a lot to play for between now and the end of the season.

"All season we have set ourselves targets and it's about looking above rather than behind.

"We've been fairly pleased with how we have done up until now but you can always improve.

"The players know that and we will be treating every game seriously in the run in.

"We can't do much more than take one game at a time and Celtic will have our full focus.

"It would be great to get a positive result to take into the final few games."

Anthony Stokes, Gary Mackay-Steven and Stuart Armstrong return to the Celtic squad.

Striker Stokes was suspended for the William Hill Scottish Cup semi-final defeat by Inverness at Hampden Park on Sunday while the former Dundee United midfield duo were cup-tied.

Charlie Mulgrew is training again after recovering from a hamstring tendon injury but is not yet ready while right-back Mikael Lustig (ankle) is also still out.

Parkhead number two John Collins insisted that "nobody feels sorry for themselves" at the club following their Scottish Cup semi-final defeat and is looking for the Hoops to stretch their lead at the top of the table over Aberdeen to eight points with five games remaining.

"There are always disappointments and the making of the player and man is how they react," he said.

"We have a big game on Wednesday night and we are looking for the players to bounce back."

"We are still in a good position and are still having a good season."
