MacDonald keeps Dumbarton top
Peter MacDonald's double gave Dundee a 3-0 win over Dumbarton to keep them top of the Scottish Championship.
Dumbarton's only chance of note came in the 22nd minute but Bryan Prunty's header was smothered by Kyle Letheren.
And MacDonald got the opener minutes after half time when he latched onto Jim McAlister's pass before firing into the bottom-left corner.
The Dees always looked dangerous and Jamie Ewings had to be alert 11 minutes later to deny Kevin McBride.
But McBride got his reward nine minutes from time when he was found by Gary Irvine and he hammered in from 12 yards.
And MacDonald rounded off the scoring in the final minute with his first-time, left-foot shot.
