Dundee United left-back Paul Dixon is in philosophical mood despite being told he will miss the Scottish Cup final with a broken foot.[LNB] Dixon limped off in the 16th minute of United's semi-final victory over Raith Rovers on Sunday and scans confirmed he faces six weeks on the sidelines.[LNB]That will rule him out of the May 15 final against Ross County.[LNB]"I kicked the underside of someone's boot after about five minutes," he said.[LNB]"I tried to play on but it got worse and worse. To be honest, I feared the worst when I was coming off, I suspected it was broken.[LNB]"The X-rays confirmed it and the doctor says I will be out for six weeks.[LNB]"I've been a quick healer in the past but it's just a month to the cup final so I'd imagine that's a step too far even for me."[LNB]The 23-year-old added: "Obviously the timing is terrible but I'm not the first player to suffer this way.[LNB]"I'll still be around the boys in the build-up and I'll hopefully travel down with them so I should feel part of it.[LNB]"It will probably hit me more on that big day but there's no point worrying about it."
