Boro fail in bid for Terrors winger

Dundee United have rejected a bid from Middlesbrough boss Gordon Strachan for winger Craig Conway.[LNB] The Tannadice club had been expecting the bid from the Championship club, who had earlier confirmed their interest by email.[LNB]However, a spokesman for United said: "We have received a formal bid from Middlesbrough for Craig Conway, but it did not meet the club's valuation of the player."[LNB]While the United spokesman would not reveal the size of fee Middlesbrough offered, it has been reported that the Tayside club are looking for around £1.2million for the 25-year-old player, signed from Ayr United in June 2006.[LNB]
