After knocking out Portuguese Champions Sporting Lisbon in the 1st round proper, Dundee took on Belgian giants Anderlecht and a double from Alan Gilzean helped give Bob Shankly’s men a 4-1 score line to take back to Dens. In the home leg that followed, goals by Alan Cousin & Gordon Smith ensured The Dee marched through to the Semi Final of the European Champions Cup 6-2 on aggregate.
