Thompson had been considering seeking advice about compensation after the match date for the visit of Aberdeen to Tannadice was moved back two days from Saturday, May 9. The fixture was rescheduled because it clashed with city rivals Dundee's final Irn-Bru First Division match of the season against Partick Thistle. Thompson told BBC Scotland: "We're one of the shareholders of the league so we'd probably have to sue ourselves. "So I don't think we'd be able to take things further." United's game with Aberdeen could have huge significance in the race for a European spot and Tangerines bosses were unhappy the problem was not taken into account before the SPL's post-split fixtures were decided. Thompson added: "I'm sure this will rear its head again. As far as I'm concerned at Dundee United, next time there'll be no conversation between the clubs. "It'll be thrown right back at the SPL and they'll have to sort it with the Scottish Football League."
