Russell double downs Hearts

Johnny Russell scored two late goals to earn Dundee United a 2-0 win over Hearts which lifts them up to fourth place in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League. The home side's victory keeps the race for third place just about alive, with Hearts currently 12 points ahead of United having played one more match. The game was hotly contested throughout, with both sides enjoying their fair share of chances without breaking the deadlock. That all changed in the 83rd minute, though, when diminutive forward Russell put United ahead when his looping header from substitute Danny Swanson's cross flew over Marian Kello into the back of the net. Russell then added a second in injury-time, prodding home a Paul Dixon cross that was flicked on by Swanson.
