Reid delighted with Tannadice win

Portuguese twins Marco and Flavio Paixao were both on the scoresheet as Accies picked up their first away win over United since 1989.[LNB]Reid felt his side, who ended a nine-match winless run with the victory, were deserving winners over a United team that created little in the final third.[LNB]He said: "I thought we started well and controlled the first 45 minutes. We passed the ball really well, created our chances and scored two good goals.[LNB]"I thought we were worthy of that at half-time. We knew United would come out fighting in the second half but I thought we contained that fairly well. I think over the 90 minutes the best team won."[LNB]Reid was also pleased his side managed to get over the winning line after having let leads slip at Tannadice on two previous occasions.[LNB]He added: "We have come here twice and conceded equalisers in the 94th and 95th minute in the past.[LNB]"Certainly on one of those occasions I thought we should have taken all three points. Tonight I thought we were the better side and to do that against a good United side is credit to the players."[LNB]United boss Peter Houston was disappointed to see his side's seven-match unbeaten run end with such a poor performance.[LNB]The manager laid into his players after the game, describing it as their worst performance of the season.[LNB]He said: "For the second home match in a row we have given a team a two-goal head-start. It was all credit to Hamilton as they got on top of us right away.[LNB]"This team has won five and drawn two of their last seven games before this so it is difficult to criticise the players but tonight I couldn't give any of them pass marks."[LNB]Meanwhile, the United manager admitted he is disappinted his side have another away tie to look forward to in the quarter-final of the Scottish Cup.[LNB]The Tangerines will have to travel to Ibrox to face holders Rangers should Walter Smith's side win their replay with St Mirren.[LNB]Houston added: "I don't know who we are playing yet but whoever it is it will be a very difficult tie. I have a lot of time for St Mirren as they are very well organised and Gus MacPherson has done a magnificent job.[LNB]"If it is Rangers then we will be playing the holders away from home. The only thing that disappoints me from the draw is that it is the seventh cup tie in a row we have been drawn away from home.[LNB]"At this time we are actually playing better away from home so maybe that is better for us."[LNB][LNB]
