The 21-year-old - who made his Foxes debut under Levein when he was in charge at the Walkers Stadium - moved to Tannadice on loan in January transfer window and impressed before having his spell cut short by a hamstring injury.

And Levein told the Leicester Mercury: "Considering James wasn't fit and had been out for so long with injury, I think he did a really good job for us. His fitness gradually got better and he was having more influence on games.

"Hopefully, we will see him back again next season if we can do a deal with Leicester.

"We have an option on him, so I will speak to his club and see what happens from there."
