Levein: Daly will be back

Daly, 26, could face up to a year on the sidelines after it was confirmed he had snapped cruciate ligaments and damaged medial ligaments in his right knee following an innocuous Chris Hogg challenge early in Saturday's 2-2 SPL draw with Hibernian. The Irishman has endured several knee and and ankle problems during his two years at Tannadice but Levein revealed the player is determined to not to let this latest injury beat him. "Jon says he is coming back from this stronger than ever and if anyone can say that and be right, it is him," Levein said in the Evening Telegraph. "It's terrible news, but it says everything about the boy that, just a few hours after hearing it, he is thinking like this and I'm expecting him to make a full recovery." Daly could be joined in surgery by midfielder Scott Robertson, who was in Leicester today consulting a specialist over his continuing groin problems. Levein said: "The specialist has said if he feels the operation is necessary, he will do it there and then. "I'm getting a call later and I'll find out then if he's had an op - if he has, he could be back training in three weeks."
