Levein: Celtic challenge the same

11 September 2009 16:59
Levein will square up to Tony Mowbray for the first time since he returned to Scotland, and he is quietly confident of causing an upset at Parkhead.[LNB]The pair clashed often when Levein was in charge of Hearts and Mowbray was Hibernian boss but the United manager insists it is about what the players do rather than the managers.[LNB]Even though Mowbray's teams are renowned for playing free-flowing attacking football and Celtic have already changed in style from last season, Levein insists a visiting team to Glasgow needs to focus on their own performance above all else.[LNB]He said: "Our approach to playing Celtic won't change because they've got a new manager.[LNB]"The principles of playing the Old Firm away from home are always the same.[LNB]"We've got to be strong and we've got to make sure our concentration levels are 100%.[LNB]"Tony has come in there and won three games out of three, so he's doing a good job and has had an impact.[LNB]"Everyone knows what his teams are like because we know him from his time at Hibs.[LNB]"His sides always play very good football and they like to pass the ball.[LNB]"But from a Dundee United perspective, we're only focusing on what we do.[LNB]"We've started fairly well in the league, are undefeated and have earned the right to go to Parkhead with a bit of confidence.[LNB]"We've added guys like Nicky Weaver, Andy Webster and Danny Cadamarteri over the summer and they will be relishing it.[LNB]"Playing on the big occasion is nothing new to any of them, that's for sure."[LNB]United have not beaten Celtic in Glasgow since the 1992-93 season so Levein believes a victory is overdue.[LNB]The Tangerines have acquitted themselves well in recent seasons and their manager believes they are now equipped to go one better.[LNB]He said:[LNB]"Someone was telling me the other day that it's ages since we last won at Parkhead.[LNB]"We've had a few draws there in the last couple of years and I don't think there's any doubt we've improved.[LNB]"We've been close a couple of times so it would be great to do it."[LNB]Webster will play after managing to train for the past two days, but captain Lee Wilkie will have to settle for a place on the bench after making his comeback in a behind-closed-doors game last week.[LNB]Levein revealed: "Webby has trained for the last two days so he'll be fine to play against Celtic.[LNB]"Lee Wilkie is not far away either. He'll be on the bench this weekend but he'll play on Tuesday and we'll see after that."[LNB][LNB] Celtic 1/4, Draw 9/2, Dundee Utd 11/1
