Levein backs Terrors to break Hearts

The Jambos emerged from a crucial Scottish Premier League encounter at Tannadice last weekend with three points from a 1-0 victory to gain the edge over Levein's team in the battle to finish 'best of the rest' behind the Old Firm. United's recent form has been patchy to say the least and they have won only once in the SPL in 2009. However, despite being on a poor run of form their manager can see enough in their performances to indicate they are ready to turn the corner and he is backing his men to get back to winning ways against Falkirk on Tuesday. He said: "There are plenty of games to go so of course we're still in with a fighting chance. "I feel we're close to a level of form which can take us to win a lot of games between now and the end of the season. "We've had to alter things in our midfield quite a bit over the last few weeks, with losing Scott Robertson to injury and then Willo Flood to Celtic. "Things were not quite right because people need time to bed into the team but I can see it coming together and am very upbeat about the remainder of the season." Levein was happy with the way his players performed against Hearts and believes a major positive was the emergence of new signing James Wesolowski. The 21-year-old made his first appearance for the Tangerines after being ruled out with a broken ankle since last October. The United boss, who had the player in his charge during his time at Leicester, insists Wesolowski is still way short of match fitness but considers him to already be an asset. The Australian came out of the game unscathed, although he is feeling some fatigue in his hamstrings so Levein will wait until closer to kick-off before naming his side. He said: "I brought James Wesolowski in at the weekend and I thought he did very well. "He's not 100% fit yet but he still showed he can be a big player for us. He's very neat and tidy on the ball and adds a bit of solidity to our midfield. "I'm not sure yet whether he will be able to play against Falkirk because his hamstrings are a bit tight after Saturday's game. "That's entirely normal after the amount of time he's been out so we'll continue to monitor him before deciding on the team." Dundee Utd 6/4, Falkirk 7/4, Draw 12/5
