Ibrox clash given green light

A successful inspection of Ibrox and surrounding areas took place on Wednesday morning by the club and Strathclyde Police.[LNB]The match is one of just two games still set to go ahead, although the meeting between Hearts and Motherwell at Tynecastle is subject to a 2pm inspection.[LNB]Tuesday night's clash between Aberdeen and Falkirk was postponed, while Hamilton-St Mirren, St Johnstone-Hibernian and Kilmarnock-Celtic, which were set to be played on Wednesday, have also fallen victim to the weather.[LNB]With the Hoops no longer in action, victory for Walter Smith's men would allow them to open up a seven-point lead at the top of the SPL ahead of Sunday's Old Firm derby.[LNB]A club statement read: "Tonight's match is definitely on.[LNB]"Groundstaff have been working on the surrounding areas and there was a successful pre-match inspection of the stadium and its environs at 11am this morning."[LNB][LNB] Rangers v Dundee Utd.
