Houston in dark over Well team

Dundee United boss Peter Houston admits he will find it impossible to second guess Motherwell's team this weekend.

With the Scottish Cup final fast approaching, Well manager Stuart McCall may be tempted to tinker with his squad to ensure he gets his team to Hampden in one piece but with United still in with an outside chance of catching Hearts in third place, their season is far from winding down and victory is crucial.

"I don't know what Stuart will do with his team selection this weekend because he'll have the final in his mind," Houston said. "I know from last season what I did because you want to make sure you get there with all your best players fit."

He added: "They have been doing very well, they are a team of solid professionals with some very talented players.

"They have beat us a few times this season and we got the better of them at Tannadice the last time.

"We are still in with a shout of third place if Hearts slip up so we won't be taking our foot off the gas.

"The boys know that we have to win all three games to give ourselves a chance so that's what we'll be trying to do."
