Peter Houston has been confirmed as Dundee United manager after signing a three-year deal.
The 51-year-old has been given the role on a long-term basis after taking over as caretaker boss following the departure of Craig Levein back in December.
He enjoyed a successful second half of the campaign by leading United to third place in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League and success in the Active Nation Scottish Cup.
Houston was unveiled at a press conference at Tannadice on Tuesday afternoon.
Houston worked as assistant to Levein before stepping up when the former Hearts boss quit United for the Scotland national team.
He endured a difficult start to his tenure, including a 7-1 defeat to Rangers at Ibrox, and initially ruled himself out of the running for the Tannadice job.
United turned their attention to Bohemians manager Pat Fenlon but the move broke down in January after failing to agree compensation with the Irish club.
Results improved under Houston, who had a change of heart over the managerial vacancy and was placed in charge of team affairs until the end of the season.
United went on to secure the coveted third spot with several games to spare, before ending a 16-year wait for silverware when they clinched the Scottish Cup for only the second time in the club's history.
