Goodwillie grabbed his ninth goal of the season when he set the ball rolling on the victory against Falkirk from the penalty spot, before Gomis netted a double as the Tangerines moved into third spot in the SPL.[LNB]The youngster is set to represent Scotland Under-21s when they play host to Azerbaijan on Tuesday night.[LNB]But, after watching United team-mates Andy Webster, Paul Dixon and Garry Kenneth earn call-ups to the senior squad for the friendly against Czech Republic, Gomis fully expects Goodwillie to make the step up soon.[LNB]"I don't see why not if he continues playing well and scoring goals," said the midfielder.[LNB]"He's got a good future in the game and just needs to carry on working hard.[LNB]"He was great today and has been like that all season to be fair.[LNB]"He is a good player and I'm happy to play alongside him."[LNB]Hibernian's draw against St Johnstone allowed United to overtake the Edinburgh club into the coveted third place behind the Old Firm and Gomis believes they can hold on to their lofty status.[LNB]He said: "It's good for us to be in that position just now. I think it's a realistic target to stay there.[LNB]"There are still quite a few games to go and we have to make sure we keep winning games and see what happens from there but I think we can finish third.[LNB]"There are other teams who can also finish third, like Hibs and Motherwell and Hearts are coming into it too, so it won't be easy but we are going to try and make it."[LNB]Reflecting on his own contribution against the Bairns, Gomis added: "Falkirk are a very good team and they always make it hard against us so to win the game and for me to score two goals was very good.[LNB]"It's the first time I've ever scored two goals in a game and to do it at Tannadice was great."[LNB]It was a chance missed for rock-bottom Falkirk after nearest rivals St Mirren and Hamilton battled out a goalless draw in Paisley.[LNB]But boss Steven Pressley had no complaints about the attitude of his players.[LNB]He said: "I thought our performance was excellent, I really did.[LNB]"Even at 3-0 down, in the last three or four minutes, we were still at it. We still didn't give up and that pleased me."[LNB][LNB]
