Dundee United and Morton facing injury absences ahead of rematch

Dundee United will be without injured midfielders Willo Flood (thigh) and Charlie Telfer (ankle) when they host a Morton side that knocked them out of the Betfred Cup in midweek.

There could be other absentees as Stewart Murdoch and Tony Andreu are struggling for fitness.

Manager Ray McKinnon, playing down talk of a revenge mission, said: "Tuesday's game has been and gone. Nothing will change the result so there is no revenge or anything like that. It is all about winning this game on its own merits and we have the players that are capable of doing that if we go about things properly and at pace."

Morton manager Jim Duffy has ruled out the injured Lee Kilday (ankle), Conor Pepper (knee), Ricki Lamie (hamstring) and Michael Tidser (knee), while one-time Tannadice striker Kudus Oyenuga struggling with a shoulder injury.

Duffy reckons that facing McKinnon's side again so quickly meant that his men could not fully enjoy their cup success as he explained: "It is the club's first semi-final in 37 years however we had to re-focus really quickly especially as they will be hurting and want to make amends.

"We played well against United and also against Dunfermline last weekend so all I can ask the players to do is to keep delivering at that level."
