Dods absence leaves United stretched

Darren Dods remains sidelined as Dundee United make the first of two trips to Motherwell in four days for the Clydesdale Bank Premier League meeting. Dods has been sent for a scan to ascertain the full extent of his knee problem, leaving manager Peter Houston short of cover in defence for the trip to Fir Park. Craig Conway returned from a knee injury in last week's 2-1 loss to Celtic but it is too soon for his fellow midfielder Danny Swanson (back) to play in the league or Co-operative Insurance Cup quarter-final meeting with Well.
