The Argentinian only joined the club last week after impressing in a trial and continued to shine on their pre-season tour of Ireland. But the 22-year-old fell awkwardly during the final tour match against Kildare. Manager Craig Levein - who is already without Francisco Sandaza, Jon Daly and Kevin Smith - said: "It's a blow because Damian has been doing very well and looked impressive. "The doctors are happy it will heal no problem but we can't say how long it will take." Levein also revealed he is looking to sign a goalkeeper in the short term after admitting he is unlikely to land Dusan Pernis before January. Pernis has signed a pre-contract agreement with United but Levein had hoped to secure his early release from Slovakian side MSK Zilina.
