The 40-year-old is tipped to replace Craig Levein at Tannadice and was holding further talks on Wednesday with the club over succeeding the new Scotland manager.[LNB]But his current employers are unhappy with the lack of communication between the two clubs so far, insisting they have not heard from United since granting them permission to speak to their manager on Tuesday morning.[LNB]"I'm disappointed I haven't had a phone call at any stage," honorary secretary Gerry Conway said.[LNB]"I've got no problems with Dundee United yet but I would have preferred it if we had spoken.[LNB]"The longer it goes on, the harder it would be to come to an agreement."[LNB]Asked if United were guilty of double-standards after they complained about a wall of silence from the Scottish Football Association over Levein's appointment, Conway said: "I don't disagree with that.[LNB]"That's a matter for Dundee United.[LNB]"I can't tell what the chairman or the person who pulls the strings there thinks.[LNB]"But, if he phones me, we'll talk."[LNB]United have stressed that several candidates remain in the frame, although Fenlon's credentials are impressive.[LNB]He has won five of the last seven League of Ireland titles with Bohemians and Shelbourne.[LNB]And Conway warned: "We have a value and if any club wants our manager and they think they're going to treat us as a pub team because we're in Ireland and they show more respect to Raith Rovers or St Johnstone, then they'll be mistaken.[LNB]"If they were to try to get him on the cheap for any reason, he won't have anything to do with that - he'll walk away and come back to Bohemians.[LNB]"We believe, and Pat does too, that we can win every trophy next season.[LNB]"So there's lots to look forward to; it's not as if he's unemployed or in a dead-end job.[LNB]"He's a good manager and we don't want to lose him a week before we go into pre-season training."[LNB]However, Conway added: "As far as I'm concerned, the job's Pat's if Dundee United will deal with us."[LNB][LNB][LNB]
