Stenhousemuir 1-2 Dumbarton: Report

Victory for the Sons

Dumbarton moved level on points with Stenhousemuir after a 2-1 away win over their nine-man play-off rivals.

The home side had a disastrous opening period to the game with defender Ross McMillan and left wing-back Kevin McKinlay both dismissed inside 33 minutes.

McMillan received his second red card of the season for a professional foul on Bryan Prunty after 10 minutes, before McKinlay committed his second bookable offence just after the half-hour mark.

The visitors made their numerical advantage count just three minutes later, defender Alan Lithgow heading home Mark Gilhaney's inswinging corner.

A calamitous first half for the Warriors was compounded moments before half-time, Mike Devlin deflecting Prunty's effort into his own net.

Substitute Gary Smith pulled a goal back 14 minutes from time, but the nine men were unable to complete the unlikely comeback.
