Forfar 1-1 Dumbarton: Report

Forfar hold Sons

Struggling Forfar battled to earn a point in a 1-1 draw with play-off contenders Dumbarton at Station Park.

The hosts took the lead after 30 minutes, Dale Hilson finishing from close range after his initial shot was parried by Stephen Grindlay.

But Bryan Prunty's long-range strike levelled things up for the visitors a minute before the break.

Chances were at a premium in the second half but the visitors were denied all three points in the closing stages when Mark Gilhaney's effort was tipped behind by Mark McCallum.

McCallum had already been the difference on the hour mark, making two good stops from consecutive set-pieces.

The Loons had a chance of victory themselves after 75 minutes but Bradley Coyne's effort was well saved by the feet of Grindlay.
