Trio to miss Dumbarton's clash with Championship leaders Rangers

Dumbarton are without three players when they host Championship leaders Rangers with Scott Taggart (stomach muscle), Jamie Lindsay (groin) and Steven Craig (hamstring) all ruled out.

Manager Stephen Aitken insisted he has not done any extra tactical work this week in preparation for the in-form Gers, who have won six out of six.

"A lot of our games this season will see us sit with men behind the ball and look to hit teams on the break," he said. "We played that way against Hibs and St Mirren to great success and we will play that way against Rangers.

"A team will make headlines at some stage this season by taking points off Rangers and hopefully that will be Dumbarton."

Rangers midfielder Jason Holt believes there are several similarities between this season's table-toppers and last term's title winners, his former club Hearts.

"There are comparisons," he said. "The main thing is the togetherness in the dressing room. It's a real tight unit, as it was last season at Hearts, and the boys get on well. There is a great atmosphere around the training field and that really helps.

"We won 3-0 last weekend but I think we let our standards drop slightly. We need to get those high standards back this weekend."

Rangers are nearing a full squad, although striker Nicky Clark (foot) and goalkeeper Cammy Bell (knee) are unlikely to feature despite returning to training.
