Sons bid to get back on course

Dumbarton will look to end a run of five straight defeats against a visiting Raith Rovers side who are on a similarly poor run.

The hosts are without Chris Duggan (knee) and Dylan Easton (hamstring). Lee Mair remains absent after a contract row, while youngster Donald McCallum is included in the squad again after a goalscoring appearance as a substitute last weekend.

Sons manager Ian Murray said: "We want to send our fans into their summer holidays smiling and if we beat Raith Rovers we will do that as well as ending our horrible recent run.

"We finished very strongly against Queen of the South last weekend and hopefully we will start where we left off."

Raith Rovers hope to have Kevin Moon available after a knock.

Howeve, they look set to be without striker Calum Elliot, who is struggling after being injured in last Saturday's 4-0 defeat from Livingston.

The game turned out to be the last one under the control of manager Grant Murray, who was dismissed on Monday and coach Laurie Ellis will take the Kirkcaldy men at The Dumbarton Football Stadium.

Ellis said: "It has been a difficult week but it is important to end the season positively. We lost badly to Livingston and we are looking for better down at Dumbarton, although we know that it is a tough venue."
