All Barr skipper ready for Dumbarton versus Queen of the South part two

Dumbarton will be without suspended skipper Darren Barr for the home game against Queen of the South seven days after knocking the Doonhamers out of the Scottish Cup.

Tom Walsh will be included in the squad after arriving on loan from Rangers and while manager Stephen Aitken has no injury concerns, striker Steven Craig has been released from his contract at his own request.

Aitken said: "We will need the same level of performance that we put in last week to get the three points.

"In fact we probably need a higher level of performance as it is never easy to play the same team two weeks running, especially when you have won."

Queen of the South have also added a Rangers player on loan, with Andy Murdoch set to make his debut for the Dumfries side.

An ankle injury will keep Palmerston captain Chris Higgins out of the match and Callum Tapping (knee) and Dale Hilson (foot) are still out, while Gary Oliver is struggling with a knock.

Manager James Fowler said: "The result last weekend was disappointing for everyone at the club.

"Winning this game will make up for it in part, but we have to play a lot better if we are to do that.

"We gave away bad goals and we have to eradicate that from our play."
