Loan star Barry in a hurray
Dumbarton are hoping to hand new loan signing Aaron Barry a debut in their Scottish communities League Cup tie against Albion.
The Sheffield United defender is awaiting international clearance for the first-round clash.
Chris Turner is available after injury as the Sons look to bounce back from the disappointment of losing to Stranraer in the Ramsdens Cup last weekend.
Manager Ian Murray said: "This game has taken on extra significance after last week's defeat as we do not want to go out of two Cup competitions and bring pressure on us ahead of starting in the league.
"I watched Albion Rovers play Rangers last Sunday and picked up one or two things that may prove useful."
Albion head for Dumbarton just six days after losing 4-0 to Rangers in the Ramsdens Cup and the Coatbridge side will be without Barry Russell again due to an ankle injury.
Pat Walker will miss out against his former side due to family commitments, while manager James Ward is looking for this game to tell him more about the season ahead.
Ward said: "The Rangers game did not tell me much about how well we are prepared for the Third Division.
"Like us, Dumbarton are part-time so it is a more even contest.
"They will be smarting after losing to Stranraer, so we need to be ready for the backlash."
