Mark Docherty helps Dumbarton to vital victory over Livingston

Mark Docherty grabbed a second-half winner as Dumbarton eased their Scottish Championship relegation worries with a 1-0 victory at home to Livingston.

Docherty's 56th-minute corner went straight in as The Sons claimed a first league win in five attempts to move six points clear of the bottom two.

In a game played with a swirling wind, Livi goalkeeper Marc McCallum produced two fantastic first-half saves.

First he got a strong hand to Grant Gallagher's back-post effort before diving to keep out Gregor Buchanan's volley.

Docherty then broke the deadlock with McCallum making further fine saves to thwart Garry Fleming, Gallagher and Tom Walsh.

Livingston had a chance to level but Dumbarton goalkeeper Jamie Ewings saved well from Liam Buchanan with the resulting corner being cleared off the line.
