Dumbarton 0-3 Livingston: Match Report

05 March 2011 19:04
Flying start sees Livi home Second Division leaders Livingston claimed a comfortable 3-0 victory at Dumbarton after a blistering start to the match. The visitors came flying out of the blocks. Craig Barr had a header saved in the first minute, tipped around the post by Stephen Grindley in the Dumbarton goal. And midfielder Keaghan Jacobs gave the away side the lead after five minutes with a neat finish from 12 yards. That advantage was extended just two minutes later when leading scorer Iain Russell grabbed his 15th of the season, smashing the ball into the roof of the net from six yards. The runaway leaders started the second half in similar fashion and almost made it three in the 51st minute but Bobby Barr's right-footed effort was brilliantly parried wide. Substitute Liam Fox came on to score for Livingston with a cool 12-yard strike after 69 minutes to seal a 3-0 win which keeps them 13 points clear at the top.
