Warriors claim vital victory

Stenhousemuir recorded a crucial 2-0 win over rivals Dumbarton to keep alive their hopes of promotion.

The visitors got off to a flying start when Brown Ferguson scored from the spot after Anthony Wallace felled Stewart Kean inside the box after five minutes.

Andy Rodgers doubled the advantage six minutes later when he rose highest to head home Grant Anderson's cross.

The Sons clearly struggled to recover from the early setback as the half slowly fizzled out after a lively opening quarter of an hour.

Alan Adamson's side showed signs of improvement after the break, Scott Agnew twice going close as they looked to reduced the deficit.

But the visitors slowly began to reassert their dominance and Kean squandered a chance for a third when he blazed over inside the area. They were reduced to 10 men in the final minutes when Kieran Miller was shown a second yellow card.
