Wilson happy with Rovers stay

Midfielder Mark Wilson is confident that he made the right decision by signing a new two-year contract with Doncaster Rovers.

The 31-year-old spoke to several other club before pledging his future to Rovers, having been at the Keepmoat Stadium since November 2006.

He told the Sheffield Star: "The only reason I probably would have left for would be to be guaranteed regular first-team football.

"The gaffer encouraged me to speak to a few other clubs, because it would help me make up my mind and it certainly did.

"There were several other clubs who were interested and I spoke to a few, but it just wasn't right.

"Taking everything into consideration I came to the conclusion for me to continue to improve I am in the right place."
