Stock outlook takes a downturn

The 28-year-old Wales international missed last week's home defeat to Crystal Palace due to a back problem, which required surgery and ruled him out for the final seven matches last season. Manager Sean O'Driscoll said: "It could be up to four weeks before we know if he'll be able to play a part in the run-in and it's a case of wait and see for the time being." Meanwhile, it looks increasingly doubtful whether central defender Jason Shackell, on loan from Wolves, will appear again this term. Shackell has been sidelined since the middle of last month with a groin problem and although he has not had surgery, he could require a further "eight to 12 weeks" of further rehabilitation.
