Spicer urges for fan support

Doncaster Rovers midfielder John Spicer understands the fans' frustrations following their goalless draw against Swansea City in midweek but urged them to continue to back them this season. Ten games into the campaign, Rovers have won just once but remain undefeated at home and sit in 18th place on ten points - three more than they had at this stage last season. Only seven years ago Doncaster were in the Conference and have made huge strides in recent years and Spicer wants the fans to see the progress that is continually being made. Speaking to the club's official website, he said: "We want to win for them as much as ourselves but they've got to be patient with us. "The fans want to come here and obviously want to see goals because they pay good money to do that, but at the end of the day we're giving our best - it's not like we come here and want to draw."
